Forward the shop line
We cannot flip AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile from the app. You tap Call on the phone that should forward. Pick that phone’s carrier on the desk — Turn Iris on fills the code for that carrier, not a one-size *72.
Answer with Iris uses all-call forwarding. The shop phone does not ring. Every after-hours call goes to her. iPhone Settings can only do that kind of forward. “Ring first, then forward if nobody picks up” is a different code and is not how Night Desk works.
Verizon
Verizon: dial *72 then the 10-digit Iris number. No # at the end. Tap Call. Wait for the confirmation tone, then hang up. Your shop phone will not ring — every call goes to Iris.
On-code example (Iris 817-555-1212): *728175551212
Off: *73
iPhone Settings → Phone → Call Forwarding does not work on many Verizon lines. Use the keypad codes.
verizon.com — Call *72 + new number. Turn off: *73. No trailing #.
AT&T
AT&T iPhone (what AT&T documents): Settings → Phone → Call Forwarding → turn on → paste the Iris number. You must have cellular signal when you set it. Android: Phone app → Settings → Call forwarding (wording varies). Dialer backup if Settings will not take it: **21* then the 10-digit Iris number then #, tap Call.
On-code example (Iris 817-555-1212): **21*8175551212#
Off: #21#
iPhone Settings only does all-call forwarding. It cannot do “ring first, then forward.” That is a dial-code job, and Iris is all-call anyway.
att.com wireless: manage forwarding on the phone, not online. Off code #21# is on AT&T’s wireless call-issue page. *21*…# is AT&T’s Wireless Home Phone format; **21*…# is the GSM smartphone form.
T-Mobile / Metro / Mint
T-Mobile: dial **21* then 1 then the 10-digit Iris number then #. Example: **21*18175551212#. Tap Call. You should see a confirmation on screen. Metro and Mint use the same codes.
On-code example (Iris 817-555-1212): **21*18175551212#
Off: ##21#
iPhone Settings → Phone → Call Forwarding also turns on all-call forwarding. Conditional (ring first) is keypad-only on iPhone. Iris uses all-call — the shop phone should not ring.
t-mobile.com self-service short codes — **21*1+PhoneNumber# on, ##21# off.
Other / not sure
Try Verizon-style first: *72 + 10-digit Iris number, no #, tap Call. If you get an error tone, try T-Mobile-style: **21*1 + 10-digit Iris + #. US Cellular / some Boost lines use *72 + 1 + number, off *720.
On-code example (Iris 817-555-1212): *728175551212
Off: *73
If the keypad eats the stars, copy the code and paste it. Then call the shop from a second phone.
Fallback only — confirm with a second-phone test.
Confirm it worked
After you tap Call, use a second phone and dial the shop number you just forwarded. If Iris greets you, the line is live. Check the box on the desk. If you get your own voicemail, forwarding did not take — pick the carrier again and retry.
We cannot see whether the carrier still has forwarding on. The morning text tells you the last call Iris took. If you expected overnight jobs and it says none, tap Turn Iris on again.
Codes above are from the carriers’ own pages as of September 2026. Your plan can still differ. The second-phone test is the source of truth.
