Terms of Use

Last updated: 21 September 2026

These Terms of Use are the agreement between you (the shop) and Answer With Iris, LLC for answerwithiris.com and for the paid after-hours desk. Paying for a desk on this site accepts these Terms as the service agreement. If we later send a signed Master Services Agreement and you sign it, that MSA controls only where it conflicts. Until then, this page governs the paid work. This page is not legal advice.

Who we are

Answer with Iris™ is a product of Answer With Iris, LLC, a Texas limited liability company. It is an inbound after-hours desk for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and roofing shops. We are not a law firm, medical provider, insurer, bank, or 911 center. We sell a software-enabled answering tool, not a licensed professional. We do not advertise as “Iris” by itself as an AI receptionist.

The product

Answer with Iris answers the shop’s published number, discloses that she is an AI assistant, discloses that the call is recorded, takes a job, and if the zip is outside the zips the shop typed, still takes the job and leaves it on the desk so the shop can decide whether to go. She may speak an after-hours trip fee the shop configured, and may text the shop owner and the on-call tech who covers that trade. She does not take cards, SSNs, or insurance numbers. She does not diagnose, quote a repair, or represent that a human is rolling. Emergencies: hang up and dial 911. The call flow, on-call board, trip-fee logic, and prompts are our software. Shops get the desk. They do not get a copy of the engine.

The shop owns the accuracy of its hours, zips, fees, and knowledge. The shop is responsible for consent to contact its customers. AI can misunderstand speech or summarize incorrectly. High-risk actions (quotes, cancellations, anything medical or legal) must be reviewed by the shop.

Accounts

You must be a business customer. You agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy, DPA, and subprocessors before creating an account. You are responsible for the login. Passwords are stored as hashes; we cannot read them. Cards are entered on our site and held by Stripe.

Recording and AI

Every Answer with Iris call starts with an AI and recording disclosure. Callers in two-party consent states are still told the call is recorded. If they do not want to be recorded they may hang up and reach the shop another way. Recordings and transcripts default to 30 days, then we drop the audio and transcript we hold unless a legal hold applies or the shop’s written order says longer. After cancel you can still pull invoices and remaining history for 30 days.

Caller data is handled under the Privacy Policy and the Data Processing Addendum. The shop is the controller. Subprocessors.

Processors that help us run the service include Retell, Twilio, Stripe, Cal.com, Vercel, our database host, and xAI. xAI may assist our internal support and system-health notes. It is not the voice on the shop line. Full list: subprocessors. Refunds: Refunds & cancellation.

Texts

Owner-alert texts are transactional (a job just came in). They are not marketing. Marketing texts or outbound AI voice calls are a separate product and are off until we rebuild consent. Message frequency varies with inbound calls. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel these texts at any time. Reply HELP for help. Support: support@answerwithiris.com. Privacy Policy: answerwithiris.com/privacy. SMS details: answerwithiris.com/sms. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages.

Paid desk

The desk is a software-enabled answering tool. Answer with Iris is an AI assistant, not a technician, not a dispatcher you can hold to a roll-time, and not 911. We do not guarantee a booked job, a tech on the road, or that your carrier will keep forwarding on. You own the accuracy of your hours, zips, trip fee, on-call list, and forwarding. You are responsible for the work you do for the caller after we take the job.

If Answer with Iris took a complete job and we failed to deliver it to the shop, the Booking delivery guarantee on Refunds — Booking delivery may credit one month. That credit is the shop’s only remedy for a missed delivery. It does not change the liability cap.

Fees and trip charges

Creating an account is free. There is no signup fee, account-creation fee, or activation fee. You pay only when you start a paid desk, or when a free-trial period ends without cancel.

Desk prices are on the site (monthly or annual). Minutes over the included bucket bill at $0.25 after a paid period starts. If the shop lists an after-hours trip fee, Answer with Iris discloses that amount on the recorded call before booking or promising a visit. Answer with Iris does not set, collect, or guarantee that fee.

Changes to the desk

Listed prices, minute buckets, overage, features, and connectors may change. We can change, suspend, or stop a plan.

A change does not cut short time you already paid. The new price or feature set applies at the next renewal unless law says otherwise. We will post the current price on the site. Material cuts to a live desk we will note on the shop desk or by email to the account address.

This is not a promise that Jobber, Housecall Pro, Cal.com, a carrier, or a vendor stays the same forever.

Trials and promo codes

A 14-day trial is available only if you enter a valid trial promo code at checkout and put a card on file. The desk can go live during the trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, you are not charged the desk price. If you do not cancel, the card on file is charged the then- current desk price when the trial ends, and the subscription renews as selected (monthly or annual). Trial is not automatic for every new account.

Annual desks

Annual desks are prepaid for twelve months at twenty percent off the monthly rate. Cancel stops the next annual renewal. Unused months are not prorated or refunded except where applicable law requires. Chargebacks and payment-network disputes are outside this page.

Cancel

Pause and cancel are on the shop desk. Cancel stops the next renewal. Path: sign in → desk → Cancel at period end. Details: Refunds & cancellation.

Refunds, if any, are issued by the operator from the command center — not as a self-serve shop button. A cancel request stops future renewals; it does not by itself require a refund of prepaid time. Nothing here limits rights that Texas or federal law does not let you waive.

Acceptable use

You may not scrape, reverse engineer, overload, or use the site to build a competing voice agent or to send spam. Banned until extra contracts exist: HIPAA/PHI, legal advice, debt collection, political, and emergency-only lines.

License and no cloning

We grant the shop a limited, non-exclusive license to use the desk for that shop’s inbound calls. The shop does not buy the software, the prompts, the call flow, or the brand.

The shop and every visitor may not:

Help pages describe what the desk does. They are not a license to rebuild it. Source code, prompts, and routing stay ours.

We may suspend an account that clones, scrapes, or trains on Answer with Iris.

Disclaimers and liability

The site and the paid desk are provided “as is.” To the maximum extent Texas law allows, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and uninterrupted or error-free service. AI can misunderstand speech. Carriers drop forwarding. We are not liable for lost jobs, lost profits, missed dispatch, a tech who does not roll, or a caller who hangs up.

Our total liability for all claims arising from the site or the paid desk is limited to the amounts you paid us for the desk in the 12 months before the claim. If you paid us nothing, the cap is $100. No indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing here limits liability that Texas or federal law does not let you waive, including our fraud or willful misconduct.

Indemnity

You will defend and pay us for claims by your callers, techs, or other third parties that arise from your trip fee, your dispatch decisions, your service work, or content you put on the desk, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.

Law

Texas law. Exclusive venue in state or federal courts in Tarrant County, Texas, unless a mandatory statute requires otherwise. Email support@answerwithiris.com before filing, except for IP injunctions.
